Rough-In Meeting
During this meeting, we will go over the different cabinetry selections,
countertop selections, as well as a few other rough in options.
Formica Countertop Selections are available at the sales office to be
checked out for up to a week.
For Corian Countertops: You may visit Corian's web site at http://www.corian.com to
see the different selections that you may make. There are some selections
which will be an additional charge for fabrication. The simple rule is
that the larger the marbling the more the cost of the countertop will
be. Corian is rated by price groups. Some selections are in the builders
series, and any other price groups would be an upgrade which we would
need to work on a quote for you. NOTE: When making your selections,
be aware that the darker colors (black or navy for example) show scratches
more easily and require more maintenance by you, the homeowner. If
you have any questions, please let us know during your meeting.
We will need to pick out door hardware finish and style. We get our
door hardware from Dave's Lock in Blue Springs, but we do have some samples
at our sales office.
We will ask you if you would like to have a security system or a central
vacuum system installed in your home. (If you think that you at some
point you may want either of these systems, then it would be a great
idea to, at the very least, pre-wire for that system.) At this point
of construction, a pre-wire is very inexpensive. We also offer packages
that complete systems. For more information please visit Rampart's web
site at www.kcbfaa.com/rampart/rampart.htm.
Also, if you would like to have outlets installed for a humidifier or
security system, so if you shall want those to be installed at a later
time, it is more cost effective to do that now.
These selections will be made at our meeting:
We get our cabinets custom made from Shamrock Cabinets based out of
Raytown, MO. They do a wonderful of building beautiful cabinets. You
may visit their web site at www.shamrockcabinet.com.
to view some selections. If you have something in mind or have see some
cabinets that you like, please feel free to bring some pictures with
you to the meeting. That will help us to design your perfect kitchen.
You have the choice of Alder, Ash or Birch in the allowance. The allowance
also covers raise panel cabinet doors. The options are limitless on customization
of your cabinets.
We also need to know if any appliances are to be built in the cabinetry,
for example a drop in range.
Please be aware of where you plan to place your TV cable and phone outlets.
We will be happy to make recommendations. If you are planning to put
an additional freezer or refrigerator in the garage or basement, then
please let us know at this point.
We will also make the preliminary lighting decisions such as where ceiling
fans are to be located, if you are going to have any over or under cabinet
lighting, and the location of can lights. We will help you make those
decisions. If you have any questions, we will be happy to answer
them at this meeting.
We also need to know if you would like any special ceiling treatment
done, such as textured knock down ceiling or a smooth ceiling treatment.
A blown ceiling is standard and other treatments would incur an additional
expense.
At this point of construction, we need to know what type of flooring
that you are putting in each location of the home. We do not need to
have the final color selection made at this time.
IMPORTANT- Please before the Interior Selection meeting, go to the Fixture
Gallery in Blue Springs or Rensen House in Independence to select lighting
fixtures. You will need to give them a week to do a take off of

or for directions you may visit their web site at www.fixture-gallery.com or
